Youth Ambassadors

Are you aged between 16 and 25 and interested in learning more about how an NHS organisation runs?

Youth ambassadors

We have a unique opportunity for you to learn more about the NHS and help further your career

Every year we recruit new ‘youth ambassadors’ between the ages of 16 and 25.

We won’t be asking too much of your time - we want your views, opinions and ideas. In return you will have something great to put on your CV or UCAS forms. You will have the chance to influence the development of youth services and encourage change as well as providing you with some useful work experience.

What will I have to do?

You will work closely with us to let us know what young people think about how we keep people informed about the work we do, for example advising us about parts of our website, and activities and events for our Members.

This is a voluntary role and the time commitment will vary, but it’s vital it does not interfere with your studying or existing work commitments and we will endeavour to work around these. It is for a period of one year, and you will help us to recruit new ambassadors at the end of this time.

We will give you all the help you need, including someone to link in with, and all out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed. Your involvement will include:

  • Attending and helping to organise Members' events and activities (around three per year)
  • Attending meetings (around three to four per year)
  • Working on projects to engage young people, that you have helped design
  • Presenting to the Council of Governors the activity completed in the year.

Who are you looking for?

We want enthusiastic Youth Ambassadors who can develop their own ideas over 12 months into a completed project. You will need to be committed to the opportunity and keen to get things done.

We would love to know if you have any experience of organising an event, seeing something through to completion or creating a solution for a problem. Are you good at design, working on websites or social media platforms? Tell us what you have done at school or in your free time.

How do I put my name forward to become a youth ambassador?
